Sortu wants to congratulate Sinn Féin, its candidates and activists for the outstanding results on the Elections for the Dáil Éireann. Basque pro-independence Left has stood side by side with Sinn Féin for a long time and we are delighted by this massive stride forward for Sinn Féin.
Sinn Féin has fought this election with a plan for a fair recovery, and has received an increased mandates to fairness, growth, jobs and investment in public services.
There is still a long way to go, but the loss of support of the parties pushing austerity is a proof of the ongoing fundamental realignment of Irish politics. On this one hundredth anniversary of the Easter rising, Irish citizens have taken a new step towards the Republic dreamed by those who stood for their rights in 1916.

Sortu, the party of the pro-indepence left in the Basque Country, welcomes the first Conference of RISE, the new Alliance of the Scottish Left, which took place last Saturday in Glasgow.
Sortu's objective is the stablishment of an independent, socialist, feminist, Basque-speaking Basque Country, established also on the values of internationalism, environmentalism, laicity, anti-militarism and diversity, therefore we can only salute and welcome the creation of a Left Alliance which stands for Respect, Independence, Socialism and Environmentalism for Scotland.
Solidarity is the tenderness of the people, and we want to show our solidarity and support for RISE, we want to show our support for all those that campaign and struggle for a better world.
Several attacks and threats against Sinn Féin members have taken place over the last couple of days, heading to todays' the Westminster election.
